st patrick's day 2020

Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone!!!
We are learning how to navigate this new quarantine/distant learning life! 
To be completely honest I am feeling every single emotion from anger to guilt. 
I felt like such a failure for not being ahead of the game with our traditional St. Patrick's Day breakfast celebration and the girls yearly basket surprise. 
Had you told me earlier this month we wouldn't be allowed to leave our house because of a pandemic, I would have thought you were joking.
Luckily I am a bit of a hoarder and had a few things stored from last year and I was able to order a few things online from Target for drive up pickup.
The result... this morning my girls were thrilled with their surprises and I realized that they do not need some elaborate gift after all.

St. Patrick's Day gift baskets...

- Lego set  for less than $10 (I bought Cailee this Moana set  and Charlotte this Aurora set)

- Crayola Color Your Bath Bucket Bath Bomb (this item is an 8 count and I bought one and split it between both girls)

Simple and Chic Halloween Style

Our family loves and appreciates each holiday!

Halloween is a holiday I've loved since I was a baby thanks to my grandpa the ultimate holiday lover!

When it comes to decorating our home I don't over do the decorations.

I like to keep it simple and chic!

The majority of the decor is from Target dollars spot over the years!

I hope you enjoy my take on Halloween home decor.

When I saw these black, grey and white pumpkins I knew exactly where they could go!

The floating shelf in the entrance of our home is where we display our wedding canvas! 

So these pumpkins just scream elegant to me so it compliments the space so well.

The second floating shelf in our living room is rather high up so the kids can't access it!

So I placed the items that would easily fall over if you tap them up here to avoid any accidents.

The center "P" wooden monogram I purchased from Michael's unfinished about three years ago for less than 50 cents! 

It is almost impossible to photograph this area with out tv glare!

The candle sticks lit up at night is the prettiest sight.

Happy 1st day of June everyone!!

Let's kick this month off with a Five on Friday...

I always get so excited on the first day of this because it means its the start of my birthday month.

My birthday is June 20th and this year we will be celebrating it on vacation woo hoo!!!

Yesterday Cailee had her school Spring Concert and it was awesome! The theme was the 1950s, so all the kids went dressed up and they looked adorable! Weeks leading up to this event I would hear Cailee in her room practicing their songs. Her practicing paid off and she belted out all the songs with a big smile on her face!

On a long solo stroll down the aisles of Target I found these Que Bella gel eye masks and love them! 

$2.99 for a pack of 3

I wear them for 20-30 minutes and I swear the bags under my eyes brighten up after each use!

We have lived at our house for 4 years now and we are finally giving our master bedroom a much needed makeover! These "You keep me safe, I'll keep you wild" printable I found while browsing Pinterest inspired the makeover! I mean I couldn't put these up in the room the way it was so obviously a makeover was the only reasonable thing to do!

A few weeks ago I took Charlotte to Travel Town and we spent the morning checking out trains and riding the small train! I bought her a Thomas the train whistle she just had to have and now I completely relate to this meme!

Simple & Sweet Easter Baskets

I love putting together the Easter baskets for the girls!

I have two rules I live by when putting together their baskets...

1)Don't go overboard! 

2)Don't wait til the last minute!

I pretty much nailed it if I do say so myself!

I kept it simple and sweet :)

If I've learned anything about being the mom of two kiddos is that you keep everything equal! That means when possible the girls get the same things and so far they are still loving it!

I bought everything at Target and I bought it the first second I saw the items hit the shelf!

Pink wire baskets were $5.00 each

Bag of purple grass $.50 each

Large plastic eggs(3pack) $5.00

Tsum Tsum mystery bags $2.99 each

Hersheys Candy Bag $1.00 each

Sidewalk Chalk $1.00 each

Egg shaped Play-doh $2.49 each

So roughly each basket came out to less than $20 each!

Not bad!

Surviving Spring Break Essentials

It is officially Day 1 of our Spring Break vacation and I made sure to stock up on some fun goodies!

My ultimate goal was to save money this spring break by purchasing things we could do at home our at the park across the street! Sure I spent more than I wanted to but all these items will last us well into summer so it was a win in my book!

My oldest has been asking us for a kite for some time now and while I was at Target I found them for under $3 so I bought both girls their own!

Let's Go Fishin' Board Game

I bought this because I though it would be fun for us all to play! I am pretty sure its going to spark some competition between me and the hubby ;) So Ill let ya know who wins lol! I found it at Target for $4.99

Foam and Plastic Baseball Bats/Extra Foam Balls

Once upon a time my husband enjoyed playing baseball before he hurt his shoulder. When my oldest mentioned a little interest in the sport I just knew maybe it could be something fun for him to do with his girls! I bought Cailee a foam bat(this bat was $7.69 and came with a foam ball as well) and Charlotte a plastic bat($5.99 at Target). I bought extra foam balls (4 pack at Target for $9.99)because I knew one of the kiddos would try to just hoard them in her bag!

Bubble Machine

It is amazing to me how entertaining bubbles are for kids! This was a no brainer when I saw  it and I made sure to buy the biggest bubble refill I could find! 

Bubble refill was $4.99 for 128fl oz!

The Take-Along 3 hole folding bean bag toss was something I had been eyeing for some time now so I decided might as well get it already! The kids and we enjoy it so its pretty much already paid for itself with one afternoon of nonstop play! I love that they fold up and we can easily take it anywhere!

Now Moms this essential isn't in the collage above but it is crucial...

I discovered these yummy drinks during my last Trader Joe's run!

Simpler Wines Italian Sparkling Wine comes in a  4-pack and only costs $3.99!

I've tried the Peach and Rose flavors. I like the Peach best!

Five on Friday

Happy Friday Everyone!

We have an exciting weekend of cleaning out the garage planned for ourselves!

Its not really how I want to spend my free time but it is something that has been on our to do list for months! So I will be very happy to finally check it off the list!

Before I start the day with full fledge cleaning lets have some Five on Friday fun!

My youngest daughter Charlotte is turning 3 in just a few short weeks, so party planning has started. Albeit a little late but nonetheless it is under way! This years celebration will be a small one but will be filled with plenty of love and laughter. We are just inviting our immediate family and will serve some appetizers, pizza and of course CAKE! Oh and the party will be Cars themed because our little princess loves everything Cars. I've spent the week combing through Pinterest for some party inspiration and found these...how cute right?!!?

This week I visited Aldi for the first time (see that here) and picked up a frozen fruit & veggie  smoothie blend!It had fruit I normally don't add to to smoothies but I was pleasantly surprised with how delicious it was! The package says makes 4 smoothies but I don't think I added enough orange juice/water so our package only made enough for 3 of us. I would would totally buy this again! Smoothies are a sure way to get my youngest to have veggies!

I have seen letter boards all over Instagram and even saw them at Hobby Lobby! I knew I wanted to buy one but didn't care for any of the price tags I was seeing! So when I went into Target the other day for toothpaste and I saw this cute letter board for $5 in the "Dollar Spot" I quickly threw it into my cart! I even found an extra set of letters for only $1. The best part of this shopping trip was that I had a gift card for Target that I earned with Shopkick(what's shop kick?..see that here)...so the letter board was basically FREE!!!

I have been kicking butt lately in the making healthy meals department! The other day I threw these items together for a quick but healthy lunch for the hubby and myself! It was delicious, healthy and pretty darn filling! Everything for this lunch was purchased at Trader Joe's minus the diced prosciutto that was grabbed during my trip to Aldi!

I love floral prints and got a little carried away the other day and ordered both of these tops online from LOFT with a gift card I got for Christmas! They currently have a great sale going on right now, so if your needing to update your wardrobe now is the time!

Target Valentine's Day Goodies

I am a lover of holidays!

I love decorating our home for each holiday and I get giddy whenever I see new holiday decorations for sale! 

I should mention that I hate rushing the holidays! 

So when I walked into Target on New Years Eve and saw Valentine's Day decorations I was a little put off! I still made a few purchases because sad to say when the time comes to actually decorate for the holiday these items will most likely be sold out!

So I have to share with you all the cute Valentine's Day decorations now so in case you want to run out and buy them you'll still be able to find them!

These banners are so cute and are only $3 each!

Candy Dishes on the left range from $3-$5

Personally I really liked the bottom heart shape dishes :) 

The small plates to the right are "appetizer dishes" and they come in a pack of 4 for only $3

Found in the "Home Kitchen" department of Target:

I am a sucker for a festive tablecloth! I feel like it is the cheapest and yet super effective way of decoration my kitchen for a holiday!

The tablecloth on the left is $4.99 but online right now it is $4.49!

The table runner is cheaper in the store for $9.99 but online is $12.99 (so definitely get it in the store)!!!

Saved the best for last...this beautiful fabric tassel garland is only $9.99 (both in store and online)

Black Friday made me do it

Happy Saturday Everyone!

I hope everyone survived Black Friday...I know I didn't!

I had no intention of shopping yesterday and yet here I am sitting in my living with items I had no business buying yesterday!

I started the morning scrolling on Barnes and Nobles website where I bought another Elf on the Shelf and an Elf Pet. We already had an elf but with 20% off site wide I figured Hey why not add to the elf family! As if I don't already have enough on my plate lets add another elf to move every morning! PS Charlotte will be thrilled I just know it!

Second we made our way to Target in the afternoon because we ran out of diapers!

I came back home with...

A new Fuzzy Blanket that was on sale for $18 normally $39.99 (You can never have too many blankets..right?!!)

Christmas Flannel Sheets that were also on sale for $18 normally $26.99 (We needed new sheets anyways I guess we can celebrate Christmas year round)

Boss Baby DVD for $9 (the kids love this movie so we would eventually buy it anyways)

Pink ornaments for $10 normally $15 (we have so many ornaments in the garage but they aren't pink, so theres that )

Pink glitter star tree topper (not on sale but matched the new ornaments so that was a necessity)

We ended our shopping trip at Carter's where I bought the girls something they actually needed...pjs!!! I scored them 2 pjs sets each for $5 each!! Major win!!

Who else scummed to the crazy that is Black Friday???

Next year I swear I won't check my phone or emails and just watch Holiday movies all day long!

Mother's Day

Today I welcome Monday with open arms and a list of chores a mile long. 

Yesterday I had the honor of being celebrated by the ones I love. Don't get me wrong my family always makes me feel special but yesterday was just the icing on the top!

The morning started out with a bang, my husband so graciously got up with Charlotte at the crack of dawn! 

And I pretended to be asleep so Cailee and Chris could sneak out and buy me flowers! Hearing her excitement to go off with daddy to get me something special is something I wish I had recored. 

So of course when they arrived back home I pretended to be sound asleep as she walked in and yelled "Surprise! Happy Mother's Day mommy".

Cailee made me the cutest card that read "I think you're Dandy and I'm not lion!!" she thought it was hilarious and I couldn't help but cry haha! At school they also made the cutest tote bag with their little hands as flowers!

No amount of gifts could ever come close to these special hand made gifts from the big girl!

The morning was off to a great start and what happened next just made it that much better!

I've been hinting to the hubs the last few years that I wanted to have a special tea time for Mother's Day and this was the year they made it happen!!!

We got dolled up in pretty floral dresses and got to experience our first tea time together as a family!

I am such a sucker for matching outfits and I am so glad I had picked these pretty dresses up at Target earlier in the week! On cartwheel they were 20% off so that was a no brainer! 

It worked out perfectly because they were so excited to wear flowery dresses just like mommy!

The girls got to try tea and they just loved the pretty tea cups and I obsessed over the lace linens!!

The tea was a fruity blend but my oldest hated it and my youngest absolutely loved it!

 We were started off with the best salad!

Then came those cute little sandwiches, delicious scones and the absolute best dessert!

I ate everything you would have thought I hadn't eaten in a week!

Pretty pink walls...need I say more?!?!

After tea time we headed on over to Color Me Mine.

I got to paint and the girls got to give my husband a mini stroke!!

Sadly no pictures were taken and for a good reason lol. Cailee painted her truck all the colors  from the rainbow and Charlotte mixed the colors my husband took 10 minutes to select.

Her turtle ended up being a hot mess but hey it was mothers day and I had a blast ;)

The rest of the day was spent visiting our families!

It really was the best day and my heart is full but so are my laundry baskets so now I must go  and mommy on!

my easy diy lego table

After researching and gathering everything I needed (which wasn't much) I was eager to put together Cailee's Lego Table! 

It was by far the easiest DIY project ever!

What I used:

Ikea Lack Coffee table

Lego Baseplates 

Velcro squares

Target Pillowfort bins

All I did was make sure the Lego baseplates were centered on top of the table and attached the velcro to the corners! Keep in mind the velcro does make the baseplates lift a tiny bit on the corners (so far it has not been an issue). 

I used velcro instead of glue because I wanted the option of taking off the baseplates without potentially damaging the table top. 

The bins add a tiny bit of color and are the perfect storage for the small space!

Considering this little project took me all but maybe 30 minutes (including assembling the table) it has already brought hours of joy for my newly turned five year old :)
