celebrating Hannah

This weekend we celebrated our Hannah girl!

It has been a year since she became a part of our family.

Because of the nature in which she was found(read about her adoption here) we don't know her official birthday so we combined her adoption anniversary with her birthday!

Of course we celebrated with a cake made especially for her! Thank you Three Dog Bakery for making awesome doggy cakes! Hannah absolutely loved eating cake!

I absolutely had to make us a cake too! 

The girls have been talking about Hannah's birthday for weeks and couldn't wait to get the party started! They were also mildly disappointed that we didn't invite our entire family over for the "party"...but a piece of cake made all right in the world!

Our Hannah girl has been living the life of luxury(which is totally well deserved!) and we can't wait for many more years with her!

Our newest family member and the prettiest little lady I ever did see. 

I present to you all our girl Hannah! 

I mentioned back in May(find that post here) that we were trying to adopt this sweet girl. And yesterday was the big day! 

Thanks to some very amazing volunteers she made her journey from Arizona to us in Southern California.

In case you are wondering...here is a little back story of our doggie adopting story!

Hannah was abandoned in the desert in Arizona and turns out she was pregnant! She was found by a caring woman who reached out to a friend at the Arizona Puggle Rescue! This amazing puggle rescue took in Hannah a cocker spaniel and cared for her and her puppies. We have been in talks with the rescue since April to adopt this beautiful girl. Countless emails were exchanged with much needed updates on her health and her puppies. 

All those days of waiting and wondering if we would be her forever family were so worth it!

We are so happy to give this girl the life she so deserves!

It has been a long time coming that we have wanted to adopt a rescue dog. It is not a decision we have taken lightly by any means. It was very important for my husband and I that we were financially and emotionally ready to adopt a dog as a family. Now that we are finally in the groove of things as a family of four I gave the hubby the thumbs up to start searching for our dog. Within minutes of his search he stumbled across a Facebook page for an Arizona Puggle Rescue. There she was the most beautiful dog we had ever seen. Except she wasn't a puggle at all she was a Cocker Spaniel and her name was Hannah. Hannah was found abandoned in the middle of nowhere. All she had on her was a t-shirt of Hannah Montana, hence her name. A few days after she was found she had 4 beautiful puppies. So not only was she abandoned but she was pregnant. I honestly can't believe a person could do such a thing.  After reading her story we couldn't wait a second longer to start the adoption process. We loved her and haven't even met her yet. I truly believe we would be the perfect family for her.  Our journey has just started to get this adoption rolling and who knows what the next few weeks will hold. But one thing I am certain of is that we would love her unconditionally. She will not be ready for adoption until the end of June but our fingers are crossed that we will be her forever family!
