A Small Act of Kindness {Lunch Baggies}

When we started our family my husband and I discussed that we would teach our children the valuable lesson of giving back to those in need.

We are not wealthy by any means but we have more than we need.
We come from very humble beginnings and we never want to loose sight of what life is really about. We want our children to be compassionate human beings.

I tell both my daughters that a small act of kindness can make a BIG difference in someones life!

That is how our family "Small Act of Kindness Lunch Baggies" came to be.

Before we leave the house to run errands the girls and I put together these little lunch baggies. When we are out and come across someone in need we offer them a lunch baggie!
If we don't see anyone on our outing we simply come home and my hubby enjoys the sandwich and we put back the bar and water bottle back in the pantry!

The lunch baggies consist of a water bottle, Simple Truth Organic Fruit and Grain bars, and a peanut-free soy butter(I buy this Don't Go Nuts twin pack from Amazon) pb&j!

I like to put inspirational quotes on the baggies because honestly I feel like it just makes people happy!

These small acts of kindness are so important and it makes my girls feel like they really can make a difference in someones life!

Since we have started this "small act of kindness" we have had other family and friends do their own acts of kindness! Each different act of kindness but with the same goal! It has be amazing!

I hope this inspires you all to go out and do something kind for someone else!

Walt's Barn

This post has been sitting as a draft for several months and I have no idea why!!

Last summer we explored a local hidden gem...Walt's Barn!

Walt's Barn is every Disney Fans dream.

Located in Griffith Park and not far from the Disney Studios in Burbank, California!

What is Walt's Barn you ask?

Quoting their website:
"Today, Walt's Barn is a living showcase of Walt's passion for railroading. Operated by the non-profit Carolwood Foundation, Walt's Barn is filled with trains of all scales, many of which were donated to the Foundation by his animators and friends that shared his hobby. Many of Walt's personal items and tools are on display and he even hand-made all of the work benches"
As a Disney fan this place was magical! Seeing all the Disney trinkets and learning about Disney history was awesome!
The kids on the other hand would rather have gone to Disneyland but they did enjoy the mini train rides next door!
If you find yourself in Southern California, I highly recommend visiting this little piece of Disney history!
The Barn is open the third Sunday of each month from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, weather permitting. Admission(donations are accepted) and parking are free.
Enjoy all the photos...

The pin collector in me couldn't leave without adding this pin to my collection!

Trader Joe's Must Haves

Its no surprise that I love Trader Joe's and these posts are pretty common around these parts!

So I will dive into my recent Trader Joe's new finds that have quickly made their way onto my must have list!

First up is this little gem that I found in the frozen aisle and are $4.49! Its a great light lunch item! I made it the other day for the hubby and I but I added some shredded chicken on top and it was perfect! I would eat this on its own for sure!

This Mushroom Fettuccine dish is so good! Cooks best on the stove top in my personal opinion! I add two garlic cubes to give it a little extra something. Perfect for two people with a side of salad! $5.99 and found near the pre-made meals/salads.

These vegetarian black bean and jack cheese burritos are great for lunches on the go!
They are super cheap ($2.99 each) and yet delicious!

These Crushed Garlic cubes are everything!! I add this to almost all my meals. I never leave the store without grabbing a couple of these bad boys. You can find them in the frozen section!

At my Trader Joe's these carrot spirals are right next to the garlic cubes! My kids gobble these "noodles" like it is nobodies business! I add the garlic cubes and a little bit of avocado oil and top it with Parmesan cheese!

I've tried cooking Okra before and it was a complete disaster! So when I saw these in the chips/cracker aisle I was hesitant but thought why not! Surprise they are yum and the kids actually eat them!

Share you TJ favorites!! I love trying new items :)
