pretty pinterest

Do you ever find yourself  starting a project(a pretty unnecessary one at that) that completely takes over your life until its complete?!? Yep that was me a few days ago!

The hubby had a day off and offered to watch the girls so I could get some much needed rest. So as you can already tell I didn't get much rest but at least my pinterest board looks all sorts of pretty(priorities people!).

Don't get me wrong this was probably a big waste of time but I can't help but love how much more organized my board looks.

Much to my surprise I am not the only person out there that loves a good looking pinterest board. Leigh from Houseologie.com has a great tutorial on making your own pinterest board covers!

I made mine on photoshop(only because it's my go to program).
I used my favorite Lilly Pulitizer print and photoshop clipping mask tool to create the cover boards.

I must say I am pretty darn happy with the results.

can't live without it

It has been a long week and since today is my first official day without coffee, I have a feeling it's going to be an even longer weekend. So why not talk about something that makes me happy?

Last week I picked up the most beautiful candles at Bath and Body Works and I am already regretting not buying more of them.

I instantly fell in love with the watermelon lemonade and georgia peach scents at first smell.

But don't get me wrong these candles are sure easy on the eyes too (insert heart eyes emoji here please).

Take a look for yourselves...

Basically these candles are awesome because they smell great and can be used as decoration. That is what I consider a win win situation!

Now to convince the hubby that we do in fact need double of each scent.

cailee's baby room

I have been a mom of two for about three months now and am finally getting into sometime of routine. I use the term "routine" very loosely. However one thing that manages to creep its way out of our routine is nap time. So when both girls nap at the same time I feel like I just one the lottery.

So what does this momma do with her two hours of glorious silence you ask? Well it certainly isn't wasted on things that matter like cleaning bottles and doing laundry.

You see the moments when I get to just sit down and do nothing during the day are very and I mean very rare. So when the opportunity presents itself I take full advantage.

So let's get to what this post is really about, shall we?

The other day while both girls napped this momma whipped out her lap top and started organizing photos(I know what you're thinking this woman is a wild one).  I came across photos of my oldest daughters baby room from our old condo.

To this day it is still one of my favorite rooms.

Our condo was very and I mean very gender neutral so with Cailee's room I pretty much went to town with the "girliest" of the "girliest" stuff I could find.

Now I present to you Cailee's baby room...

The chevron wall took me a good long week to paint and was my absolute favorite part of her room.

The "Cailee" canvas artwork was such a fun and easy diy project. It really added a special personalized touch to her room.

We constantly changed the photos on her dresser and always let her pick the photos. It was always so fun to see what photos she picked and really made her feel included in the decision making .

The silhouette was Cailee at the age of two. We had one made when she turned one as well with a silhouette artist from San Diego, CA.

Her coloring table was by far her favorite spot in her room.

The Rapunzel and Sofia the First book are from her 1st and 2nd birthday. We used them as guest books and they were showcased in her room all year long. I always added in another book/books for the different holidays going on at the time.

The artwork is very special. The "Cailee" Rapunzel inspired artwork was gifted to her on her first birthday by my sister. The Alice in Wonderland artwork was also used in her older cousins nursery many years ago.

family of four

Growing up I would cringe every time my mom would make my sister and I take photos. Whether it was at an amusement park or just at a restaurant enjoying dinner as a family you could count on my mom making us take a photo.

It wasn't until I had a family of my own that I really understood the importance of photos. Now I am the crazy momma always snapping away, begging my family to take just one more picture.

You see I am the momma of a three year old and a two month old and I am now hit with the reality that time really does fly.

So I am doing what every mommy does...try my best not to wallow in the fact that my babies are growing up by making them take a gazillion photos (that I can cry over on the first day of school).

Here are some favorites from our very first photos as a new family of four!
